Our school implements a progressive, child-oriented and spiral curriculum for our children according to the “Developmental Curriculum and Activity Recommendations for Children Aged 2 to 6” written and guided by the Hong Kong Christian Service. Through a variety of themed events, project-based learning and socio-cultural, environmental and affective education, our children are exposed to rich and diverse explorative activities and discussions, such as life experiences, language and news sharing, scientific discoveries, free play, spiritual and artistic learning, and also field trips, visits and interviews with experts in the community. In doing so, we help inspire holistic learning and development, build up different knowledge, develop skills, and stimulate critical thinking, creativity and a positive attitude towards life.
We advocate the idea of life education. In addition to a series of picture books for life education, we also offer core-value construction lessons assisted by learning sessions in live events. Through the actual experience in “knowing, feeling, believing and acting”, the children gradually learn to develop a sense of community, and a caring attitude toward society and the environment.
Our school was awarded the “Chief Executive’s Award for Teaching Excellence” for our arts program in 2011-2012, and has been recognized by the education industry as an excellent practitioner for building an effective learning community for children. In January 2015, our school underwent an EDB Quality Review, and once again won its high level recognition and praise.
